While Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua collide in their long-awaited all-British heavyweight clash in the main event at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, the chief support for the night will see Deontay Wilder welcome ex-cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia to the heavyweight division, Netflix confirmed Wednesday.

With a mega-fight against David Benavidez potentially looming at cruiserweight, Opetaia, a former two-time IBF titleholder, is not expected to remain at heavyweight post-December.

Opetaia (31-0, 24 KOs) has already fought twice in 2026. The 31-year-old Aussie routed Brandon Glanton in March and then followed that up with a ninth-round TKO win over Noel Mikaelian in September .

Wilder (45-4-1, 43 KOs) held the WBC heavyweight title from 2015-2020. He managed 10 successful title defenses before losing the belt to Fury in February 2020.

Wilder, 41, has gone 3-3 since that fight, losing all his appearances at the world level of the division. The American is on a two-fight win streak, though, and took an entertaining split decision over Derek Chisora in April.
