A Chinese influencer has accused her assistant of six years of stealing her personal items to create a false persona online.
Chen Xin, a Chinese content creator, shared the allegations in a lengthy post to Douyin, China's most visited short-form video app, on Jan. 24, claiming that her assistant entered her home, where she took photos in her clothes, jewelry and bags to "create a persona" online — which she used to earn money on the social media platform.
"She claimed that my house, car, watch, bags, and other luxury items belonged to her," alleged Xin in her post. "She's a complete liar."

Xin went on to allege in her post — which included screenshots of her assistant's alleged social media posts — that her assistant had amassed over a million Douyin coins, the platform's in-app currency, during a livestream in which she appeared with the false persona (the equivalent of over $10,000).
According to the South China Morning Post, one of Hong Kong's most prominent English-language newspapers, Xin's assistant allegedly used artificial intelligence to edit her face onto photos Xin had taken of herself but had not shared to her own social media accounts.
The outlet reported that the content creator has since issued a letter to her assistant via her lawyer, accusing her of infringing on her reputation and privacy.
Xin claimed in her post that her assistant, when confronted about her actions, "admitted to stealing three photos of me and wearing my clothes to take photos," but denied "everything else."

"At this point, there's no room for reconciliation!" she wrote, seemingly addressing her assistant. "If you had even a little bit of conscience, you would never have treated me like this!"
