52 years later, Raven is still kicking.

The English heavy metal rock band announced via Instagram on Wednesday that they will be embarking on their Can't Take Away Fire Tour around North America, hitting over 35 cities from March to May. They will be joined by special guest Slackjaw.

The upcoming tour will kick off in Louisville, Kentucky, on March 18 and conclude in Florida on May 3. In between, they will be making stops around various cities such as Oklahoma City, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Denver, Toronto, Albany, Richmond and more. In addition, there are six blank dates that are listed as "To Be Confirmed."

"North America here we come!!" they wrote in their Instagram caption, along with the official tour poster.

Though they went on a tour around Europe last fall, the last time Raven performed around the United States and Canada was in spring 2024 for their All Hell Breaks Loose Tour, as well as opening for Vicious Rumors in between tour stops.

"After our 'medical gap year' of 2025, we are hungry and itching to get back to doing what we do best – cranking out the megawatts and putting on a RAVEN Metal show for the lunatics out there," Raven's lead vocalist and bassist John Gallagher told This Day in Metal. "We have a killer band SLACKJAW out with us as special guests on these shows, and it's gonna be a take-no-prisoners full-out affair!"

Raven's lineup also includes John Gallagher's brother, Mark, and Mike Heller.

Raven performs at First Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1986.

Formed in 1974 in Newcastle, England, Raven gained their popularity as part of the early-to-mid 1980s new wave of British heavy metal (or the NWOBHM) scene, and is considered to be a huge influence and inspiration on the development of the thrash metal genre, along with Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. So far, Raven has released a total of fifteen studio albums and is best known for their hit "On and On."

In 1980, Raven signed with Neat Records, which led them to release their first song "Don't Need Your Money" and open for various UK bands such as Ozzy Osbourne's Blizzard of Ozz, Motörhead, Whitesnake and Iron Maiden. They released their debut album, Rock Until You Drop, in 1981, following it up with their sophomore record, Wiped Out, a year later. When Raven released their fourth studio album Stay Hard in 1985, that is when they reached commercial success.

Rock band Raven (Mark Gallagher) performs at First Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1986.

The band released an EP last Valentine's Day titled Can't Take Away The Fire, to celebrate 50 years as a band, as well as their single "Metal Militia" this past November. These projects mark Raven's first releases since their most recent album, All Hell's Breaking Loose, in 2023.

Fans can purchase tickets for their upcoming Can't Take Away The Fire Tour on Raven's official website.
