A monstrous couple who tortured their adopted children, including confining them in a basement 'dungeon,' has been given a significantly lighter sentence after accepting a plea deal. Charles Edmonson, 64, and his wife, Matthew Edmonson, 50, pleaded guilty on December 27 to multiple charges related to the abuse of five young boys - four of whom had special needs. Matthew Edmonson admitted to five counts of child endangering, while her husband Charles pleaded guilty to kidnapping, felonious assault, and three counts of child endangering.
