A reckless driver who raced buddies at speeds of up to 150mph while displaying off quite a lot of high-performance automobiles has been jailed after posting footage of the joy rides on social media.

Umar Gul, 24, was filmed by a backseat passenger flying along a twin carriageway at more than double the velocity limit.

Within the hair-raising clip he may be heard introducing a Mercedes C63 alongside together with his challenger, a pink Audi RS3, and debating which would win.

After zipping by means of a set of visitors lights the pair each put their foot down and shortly hit outrageously high speeds on the empty stretch of tarmac.

But social media customers alarmed by the danger they posed to other drivers started flagging the clips with police, who then catalogued them as evidence.

They confirmed him equally driving other automobiles dangerously and at excess speeds, including a Nissan GTR and a BMW M135i.

Gul, Accrington, Lancashire, ultimately pleaded guilty to 5 counts of harmful driving and was jailed for 16 months at Preston Crown Courtroom.

Following his sentencing, PC Simon Grounds stated they might continue to go after drivers who put different street consumer's lives in danger.

He stated: 'Umar& Gul& put both himself and others in danger via his harmful driving and I welcome this custodial sentence.

'As well as proactively concentrating on harmful driving on our roads we welcome reviews from members of the general public by way of our Operation Snap and, as this case exhibits, we'll act on those stories and look to place individuals earlier than the courts.'
