- Mark Consuelos opened up about the death of his father, Saul Consuelos, on the *I've Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario *podcast on Tuesday.

- The actor shared the tragic news of his father's death on* Live With Kelly and Mark* last month.

- "I've never said, 'I miss my dad.' Because he's always been in my life. He's always been available to me," Consuelos emotionally shared with DiDario.

Mark Consuelos is opening up about the loss of his father, Saul Consuelos, after announcing his death on* **Live With Kelly and Mark* last month.

The daytime TV co-host reflected on losing the man he described as a "mythical character" during an appearance on iHeartRadio's* **I've Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario* podcast that aired Tuesday. In a clip shared by PEOPLE ahead of the episode's premiere, the *All My Children *alum admitted that he prayed for "a merciful exit" for his father after a long battle with illness, and was grateful that "it happened that way — very quickly and painlessly."

"It was kind of a brutal five-month saga leading up to him passing," Consuelos said. "I knew it was happening. We all knew, this is going to happen."

But even though the actor said he tried to emotionally prepare himself for "the eventuality" of the loss ahead of time, when his father died, the reality hit hard.

Kelly Ripa, her husband Mark Consuelos, and Mark's parents Camilla Consuelos and Saul Consuelos, attend the premiere of "Off the Rez" during the 10th annual Tribeca Film Festival at SVA Theater on April 26, 2011 in New York City.

"My father's a mythical character to me," Consuelos explained. "He's, like, the best man I've ever met. Everything good that I've kind of glommed onto of how I carry myself comes from him."

He added, "I guess what I haven't said is, I miss my dad. I've never said that. I've never said, 'I miss my dad.' Because he's always been in my life. He's always been available to me."

While Consuelos shared that working on tech rehearsals for the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of *Fallen Angels* on Broadway helped him to "compartmentalize" his grief, that didn't stand up to the reality of the situation when his family gathered for a memorial service. "We just had a memorial for him, where the family all got together," he said. "And the reality of him being gone hit, of him actually being gone."

"I'm going to miss just giving him a hug and holding his hand and just laughing with him," Consuelos added. "That's something I've never said in my life. I'm going to miss my dad."

Consuelos also shared that he continues to honor his father before each *Fallen Angels *showing. "I do look up in the house every now and again," he told DiDario. "You can't really see, because of the lights. And I kind of picture [him]. I think about him before I go on stage."

Consuelos paid tribute to his father's legacy alongside his wife, Kelly Ripa, while announcing his death on the April 22 episode of *Live With Kelly and Mark.*

"You were blessed more because you knew him his whole life. I only got to know my father-in-law for 31 years. But they were the best 31 years of my life," Ripa, Consuelos' wife of nearly 30 years with whom he shares three children, added. "I can honestly say I will miss him every day for the rest of my life, as I know you will, as our children will. He was the greatest person I've ever known. He really is so symbolic of everything you are."

Consuelos shared a few things he remembered about his father with the audience, including "a lot of lectures" and that he "learned so much" from him at a young age.

"I learned the most by just watching him... by watching the man he was," Consuelos added. "He came here from Mexico in his early teens. He immigrated here from Mexico, he served his country for 30 years. Ended up in special operations command in Tampa. This young kid from Mexico just got his education through the Navy, was always going to school. Brilliant, got his master's while I was a kid, and he loved this country so much."

He concluded the tribute by telling the *Live* audience that he "was able to thankfully get down there and say goodbye" to his father, though he had to pause rehearsals. "I really feel like that was such a welcome distraction for me. I knew I had to keep on going, especially during that time. It's been great. I had such a good time doing it. I know he's there watching."

Warning: this story contains light spoilers from Marvel’s Disney+ special “The Punisher: One Last Kill”(streaming now).

Jon Bernthal’s latest round as the Punisher couldn’t have been more personal.

For a decade now, Bernthal has deeply explored the antiheroic character of Frank Castle, who started a one-man war on crime after the murder of his family in a gang shootout, from Netflix’s original “Daredevil” series to his own show. In “Punisher: Last Kill,” Frank wrestles with the psychological toll of his brutal actions and sees his murdered daughter Lisa again – played by Bernthal’s own 11-year-old child, Adeline.

Frank Castle (center) is haunted by ghosts of fellow soldiers (Jason R. Moore, Nick Koumalatsos and Colton Hill) in Disney+'s Marvel special "Punisher: One Last Kill."

The actor hadn’t seen his family for a while during pre-production and filming, until a tough scene set at Lisa’s gravesite, where dad and daughter reunited.

“I was in a pretty dark emotional place, I'll be honest,” Bernthal tells USA TODAY. “I pop my head up at the grave and she's standing right in front of me. We designed that to have as much emotional impact as it could. It was such a joy to share it with her.”

Co-written and directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green (“King Richard”), “One Last Kill” puts the Punisher through the wringer, emotionally and physically, like never before. Ignoring the extreme chaos around him in a crime-ridden neighborhood, the former Marine is haunted by ghosts of fellow soldiers. Frank contemplates ending it all, even as mob matriarch Ma Gnucci (Judith Light) also wants him dead after he killed her entire family.

A lot of Punisher stories move past “the spiraling, whirling madness and darkness of trying to avenge his family, and he had become this sort of crime fighter or proponent for justice,” Bernthal says. “I understand the need and desire to get him there, but I really wanted for the fans to see it happen in real time. So instead of moving him forward down the line, I wanted to bring him back and show what it was like really at rock bottom.”

Bernthal’s close with a group of veterans and found inspiration in Nick Koumalatsos. A “One Last Kill” producer who also appears in the special, he had a story that was similar to Frank’s as far as hitting a low point and “going to take his own life and what happened to get him out of it,” Bernthal says. “I was really intrigued with the idea of if the only way you know how to honor the dead, to honor the people that you miss so deeply, is to go and kill in their name, what happens when there's no one left to kill?”

With Frank’s severe emotional isolation, Bernthal crafts him as "this unreliable narrator. He’s really cracking and he doesn't know what to believe anymore,” the actor says. “The result is a very fragile version of Frank where he can't even trust himself until he's caught on fire and all of a sudden he hears a scream from next door. That reminds him of his daughter's scream and, boom, he's in action.”

Green also was affected by hearing from ex-soldiers who experienced what Frank’s going through: “It’s heartbreaking when you see these big, strong men who get choked up or who hold on to the Punisher in that way. It’s beautiful.”

Frank ultimately has a crossroads moment in “One Last Kill”: Instead of going after Ma and continuing to be that version of the Punisher, he instead runs to help a young girl save her father from violent goons. “We knew in our heart which decision he was going to make. Having the audience decide is the most important thing,” Green says. “He makes the human choice, which is in part who Frank is and getting back to the core of his psychological state.”

Jon Bernthal and his daughter Adeline attend a New York City screening event for "The Punisher: One Last Kill."

Bernthal, who’s currently starring on Broadway in “Dog Day Afternoon” and features in “The Odyssey” (in theaters July 17), “would love to come back” and do more Punisher specials. But fans won’t have to wait to long to see his skull-bedecked armor again: Frank’s next Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance is opposite Tom Holland’s web-swinging hero in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” (out July 31).

“Tonally, it's going to be much different, obviously, but it was important to me that the same character could walk off of one screen and walk onto the other, and hopefully we were able to achieve that,” Bernthal says.

For Bernthal, the Punisher is a character who’s a symbol to “put your wounds to use, put your pain to use,” he says. The ultimate goal with the Punisher is to get Frank to “a place where he can be the kind of person you want to show up when there's something bad going on,” the actor adds. “Some of these folks that are capable of the deepest of stakes and people who have suffered the biggest of wounds are also capable of doing the most good.”

Speaking on the Club Random podcast on Monday (11 May), the Democrat senator said the divisive reaction to the project is a result of Trump Derangement Syndrome. “If he came out [in favor] for ice cream and lazy Sundays, we would f****** hate it,” Mr Fetterman said.

Mr Maher added: “The money is like one angstrom unit of a percentage point of what our budget is. So it doesn’t matter anyway.”

“It’s couch money.”

PEOPLE can confirm the comedian and actor, 58, is expecting his third baby, his first with girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp. TMZ was first to report the news.

The Soul star is already dad to daughters Anelise, 17, and Corinne, 32, whom he welcomed in previous relationships. Foxx shares daughter Corinne with ex Connie Kline and daughter Anelise with ex Kristin Grannis.

PEOPLE confirmed Foxx and Huckstepp were a couple in August 2023 after they were spotted out dining with a group in Malibu, Calif.

According to multiple sources, they split a year and a half later in January 2005 amid a busy time for Foxx: That month, he released a movie with his pal Cameron Diaz, Back in Action, just weeks after his highly anticipated Netflix special, Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was … began streaming.

“Jamie is super busy, just the way he likes it,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. “He has so much going on, he barely has time to stop and think about how blessed he is." Despite the breakup, Foxx maintained a positive attitude, according to the source: "He has been having a great time."

But just a few months later, Foxx and Huckstepp were hanging out again. In April 2025, they were photographed leaving Nobu in Malibu (the same restaurant where they had a group date in the summer of 2023).

That October, Foxx and Huckstepp were seen spending time together at Kiki on The River in Miami. The pair, who were with a larger group, enjoyed a tour of the Miami River before dining at the Greek restaurant.

The proud girl dad loves being a father. During a 2017 interview with PEOPLE, Foxx opened up about raising his two daughters in Hollywood. "In this business, sometimes it can get crazy. We're so proud of them. They ended up being okay," he said.

When asked what his favorite part of being a dad was for Ellen Digital's series Dad Confessions, Foxx said he loves hearing his daughters call him "dad." He continued, "Watching them light up when you come into a room. Helping them work out a problem that you've probably gone through."

Foxx's daughters are also his biggest supporters and advocates. In April 2023, Corinne informed her followers and Foxx's fans in an Instagram post about a "medical complication" the Academy Award-winning actor experienced while filming Netflix's Back In Action in Atlanta. It wasn't until over a year later that Foxx would share he had a "brain bleed that led to a stroke."

In June 2025, Foxx was presented with the Ultimate Icon Honor at the BET Awards. During his emotional acceptance speech, he paid tribute to his "beautiful" daughters, Corinne and Anelise, who were in the audience, and thanked them for saving his life.
