Few things in life are as immediately clear as RuPaul's cover girl beauty, but fans had a memorably difficult time literally seeing that — or much of anything at all — through what appeared to be a glob of vaseline smeared across the camera throughout the filming of *RuPaul's Drag Race* season 1.

OG queens BeBe Zahara Benet — who walked away with the Emmy-winning series' inaugural prize — and fan-favorite competitor Ongina recently stopped by EW'S *BINGE* podcast to lovingly recap their season 1 journey through the future ratings juggernaut's fabulous fledgling waters and that infamously blurry camera lens as part of Mama Ru's debut crop of contenders vying for what would become the most coveted crown in queer television history.

"It seems like every two seconds they had to change some lighting thing," Benet affectionately jokes of season 1's aesthetic, which she tells *BINGE* cohosts Joey Nolfi and Jillian Sederholm was a recurring point of comedy for the first group of girls to face off on *Drag Race*. "[It was] that filter!" Ongina continues. "They had to keep changing the plastic layer they kept adding to the camera! They had a man with different color cellophanes. We were just sitting there!"

Benet remembers that the group had no idea the season would end up playing on national television as if it was being broadcast through a cloud of mist, which fans have adoringly come to love as one of the show's most memorable artistic choices across its 11-year history.

"We didn't even know what it was. When we looked at the final product we were like, oh, they sure blurred our faces, honey, we must not have been that cute!" she quips.

RuPaul's Drag Race

Before the show went on to score gold with the Television Academy and morph into a global phenomenon on VH1, queer-focused network Logo shepherded the series into existence on a much smaller budget than it has now, which resulted in what appeared to be a tiny runway Benet and Ongina claim was easier to navigate than fans suspect. That wasn't the case for season 1 competitor Akashia, however, who fell atop the stage after getting tripped up on a gorgeous ballgown.

"It seemed like she was very down and very sad. What I remember from that day is she had asked me [to help her pick] between two outfits," explains Ongina. "She showed me the gown which she wore, and then she was showing me another hoe outfit. I was like, 'You should probably wear a gown this time because you've been a hoe the last few outfits you've worn.' I'm not saying it was *my* fault she fell, obviously that was her fault because she couldn't walk in a gown, but maybe I added to that!"

Ongina maintains that she made the call as a genuine move to help Akashia, who'd already landed in the bottom twice leading up to that point. Benet backs up the sentiment, speculating that the magic of season 1 stems from a lack of knowledge about how the show operated, so there was no secret plotting or back-stabbing like we see on today's televised pageants.

"Whether you hate or love us, we were very genuine," Benet stresses. "We didn't have blueprints to say 'I want to be the bitch' or 'I want to be this,' we were just who we were.... nobody came with some preconceived notion or strategy!"

Tyra Sanchez might've won the judges over by marrying her stunning looks with ace lip-sync skills, but the former drag queen's *RuPaul's Drag Race* season 2 sisters tell EW she morphed into a momentary bridezilla during an intense confrontation the show's cameras didn't capture.

"It actually happened.... while people were [doing their confessional interviews], so there weren't cameras in the Werk Room," season 2 runner-up Raven explains to hosts Joey Nolfi and Jillian Sederholm in the latest episode of *EW's BINGE* podcast.

Raven adds that, during prep for the infamous bridal makeover challenge on episode 5, Sanchez — who would go on to win the competition, and now goes by James Ross — tested her fellow competitors' collective patience by singing Beyoncé's "Halo" at the "top of her lungs" while the queens tried to focus on completing their wedding gowns for the runway.

"We had just spent all day filming. Tensions were high. We were halfway through the competition, and she was asked nicely to please be quiet, and she did not," Raven remembers. "She was asked as second time. This is when it got more to a 'Hey, shut the f— up,' and she did not."

Raven says Tatianna then "decided to walk up to her and say 'Look, I'm sick of hearing you. Shut the f— up.' They kind of pushed each other and a production assistant walked in and separated the two of them. Mind you, she was half the height of both of them."

The moment ended with the contestants accepting that the moment marked a "turning point" for Tyra, "where everyone realized she really just doesn't care about anyone else here."

Elsewhere on the episode, Jujubee takes us through the moment her eyeball connected with Raven's stiletto during the final episode's music video shoot, an audio mishap that occurred while Jessica Wild was, well, sitting on the porcelain throne, and more season 2 tea on* EW's BINGE* podcast, which premieres new episodes featuring *Drag Race* icons every Thursday.

Are you ready for the Tyra Banks/Naomi Campbell sit-down of the drag world? EW exclusively reunited sisters-in-drag Shangela and Raja for an in-depth breakdown of all of their *RuPaul's Drag Race* season 3 secrets, marking the first time both queens have reunited for a joint interview in nearly 10 years.

Joining hosts Joey Nolfi and Jillian Sederholm on the latest episode of *EW's BINGE* podcast, Shangela and Raja candidly recall their time filming the third season of the Emmy-winning reality competition series, which Shangela — after previously being eliminated on the first episode of season 2 — returned to by infamously popping out of a giant box to surprise the other contestants.

"They said to listen for Ru's keyword, which is 'ridonculous.' When RuPaul says ridonculous, [I had to] jump up out the box.... girl, Miss Ru took about 14 takes before she did ridonculous after I had been rolled in!" Shangela jokes. "I was so hot and sweaty in the box, and I could hear the girls talking. I could recognize some voices.... Raja has a very iconic voice, so I was like, that's Raja! I knew her, I knew Manila, I was just hanging out in there waiting!"

While Shangela was excited to pop out of the box, Raja's immediate reaction wasn't so warm, as the pair had a recent falling out over a borrowed wig Shangela returned to her friend in knots.

"That tension built up made for amazing television," Raja remembers. "People still today, 10 years later, tend to think of us as being these rivals when oftentimes I really just want to make out with her."

The pair also discuss a three-week break in filming the season, which ended as they were welcomed back to the set with gifts from RuPaul: Small, ceramic containers emblazoned with the word "dolls," and both queens still cherish the trinket.

"I took my dolls container to my Tic-Tac lunch with Ru, and I asked her to sign it at the end of the segment. I still have my 10-year-old Tic-Tac inside of the dolls container.... I've opened it recently and what was once an orange Tic-Tac is now a black Tic-Tac," Raja reveals, later adding that, in addition to stealing the Tic-Tac, she and Carmen Carrera also used to smuggle vodka from the *Untucked* lounge into their purses.

The biggest reveal comes toward the end of the podcast interview, when Shangela goops herself by getting Raja to admit to an age-old mystery among the *Drag Race* community: Was there tulle on Raja's infamous hair-centric dress that was, as outlined by the runway challenge, to be constructed using *only* wig hair?

"There *was* tulle!" Raja remembers as Shangela rejoices. "There was a layer of it that held the hair in place. What I did with the hair was I pelted it, kind of like dreadlocking, where you tease hair so it becomes like felt, so I put a layer of sheer tulle underneath to keep the shape. But, yes, there was tulle!"

Listen to *EW's BINGE* podcast on *RuPaul's Drag Race* season 3 — also featuring a special guest appearance by Phoenix, who performs a *Snatch Game* skit as the celebrity she didn't get to play on the original broadcast — above, and tune in next Thursday as Latrice Royale and Chad Michaels join the show to spill the tea on season 4. In a recent interview, Nicole Kidman shared that she would love to have her kids on set with her all the time. The A-list actor appears to want nothing more than to spend all her time with her children. Elsewhere in the interview, she weighed in on the possibility of her daughters following in her footsteps.

Nicole Kidman would like to have her kids on set: 'Just want them with me'

Nicole Kidman is currently busy promoting her upcoming Prime Video crime drama series, "Scarpetta." During an interview with PEOPLE on the red carpet at the series' premiere in New York City, she said she would love to have her kids on set with her.

Kidman told the outlet, "I would just love to have them with me at all times, all the time. They're always like, 'Mama, mama. You can't have that.' But yeah, would I be interested in that? Of course. I just want them with me. They're a part of me, and they're my loves."

shares teenage daughters, Faith Margaret and Sunday Rose, with ex-husband Keith Urban. She is also the mother of daughter Bella and son Connor, whom she shares with her previous ex-husband, Tom Cruise.

When asked if Faith and Sunday would ever join her on-screen, Kidman replied that it would be best to ask the girls. "I mean, I can't answer for them. The thing that we all know about children and when they become young women, don't answer for them. Don't tell them who they are or what they are. They're there to tell you who they are. And so you would have to ask them," she explained.

After 19 years of marriage, Urban and Kidman called it quits in September 2025. The duo co-parents their kids, who allegedly split their time amicably between both parents. In December 2025, Page Six reported that the girls spent Christmas with their mother in her home country, Australia.

Prince William was busy in the kitchen at his latest royal engagement and couldn't stop laughing as he coordinated a phone order at a bakery.

On March 5, the Prince of Wales (or Duke of Cornwall, as he's called in the area) visited Cornwall on St. Piran's Day, the county's national day, and hopped in to help at Gear Farm Pasty Company, a family-run farm and bakery that pushed to stay open during the severe Storm Goretti.

As seen in a video shared on X by Rebecca English of the Daily Mail, Prince William helped by picking up the phone and taking an order. However, there was a miscommunication when the heir asked for a name on the order.

"And what name is that? Juicy? Josie," the royal, 43, said to the caller, which made everyone laugh. "Sorry, Josie, I thought you said 'Juicy,' I apologize."

Prince William stifled laughter as he continued chatting with the customer, promising that the "pasties will be juicy" — which sent those around him into another fit of giggles — and that they would be ready for 1:45 p.m.

"Five fresh ones and ten frozen," he confirmed to the customer and said farewell with a smile and more laughter.

Gear Farm Pasty Company in St. Martin is an award-winning business known for its traditional Cornish pasties, and its farm has been certified organic for over 30 years. Cornwall was hit hard during the intense Storm Goretti in January, but Gear Farm stayed open with backup from a generator, baking and supporting residents who lost essential services for several days.

Prince William met members of the Webb family and local people who pitched in to respond to the disaster, in which about 50,000 homes lost power, and toured the bakery to see production, meet staff and participate in pasty-making.

The Prince of Wales — who sported a Cornish flag pin for the away day — even tried his hand at serving customers and smiled for a selfie there.

Prince William's phone order fun called back to a similar scene at a royal outing in 2023 with his wife, Kate Middleton.

That April, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited the family-run restaurant The Indian Streatery in Birmingham during a trip to celebrate the city's diverse culture and heritage, where they tried making roti and William took a phone order.

The heir to the throne took a call to help a customer reserve a table for two, with hilarious results as he attempted to share directions.

"Hope we told this customer to come to the right place…!" Kensington Palace joked on X, sharing a snap of Prince William holding the phone to his chest as Princess Kate hysterically laughed.

The Los Angeles Dodgers' player, 34, welcomed his second baby, son Santiago José, with his wife Mariana Vicente on Wednesday, Feb. 25, announcing the happy news and sharing the first photos on Instagram.
