Gina Gershon is speaking out on her decision to walk away from a role in "Friday the 13th."

The "Showgirls" actress, 63, said in a recent interview that she did not appear in Part 2 of the famed horror franchise because the part she was offered included an "exploitative" topless scene.

Gershon told Fox News Digital in a conversation published Sunday, March 29, that the decision helped her learn to trust her gut early on in the movie business. "I was offered a lead in that movie," she told the outlet. "And, of course, I was so excited to act in movies, but it definitely felt kind of exploitative to me and a little silly that right before she gets killed, her top has to come off."

Gina Gershon attends "The Testament Of Ann Lee" New York screening at Crosby Street Hotel on Dec. 9, 2025, in New York City.

Gershon's revelation comes ahead of the release of her new memoir, "AlphaPussy: How I Survived the Valley and Learned to Love My Boobs." In it, she details the scene, per Fox, writing: "At the time, those kinds of slasher movies always had girls dying with their breasts exposed…That seemed pretty lame to me: exploitation 101."

"I was really lucky that I had a father who really taught me how to believe in my own decisions," Gershon told Fox. "It wasn't like I had to rebel against my family. I remember asking him about it, thinking he was going to say, 'No daughter of mine is going to do that!' And he said, 'It's your body. If you're comfortable with it, I'm comfortable with it.'"

That's a wrap on the 2026 Oscar race! Awards season came to an end on March 15 with the 98th Academy Awards, where "One Battle After Another" was crowned best picture in a competitive race with "Sinners." Leading up to Hollywood's biggest night, Oscar hopefuls spent the first half of March stepping out at star-studded events, from the Actor Awards to the Writers Guild Awards.Scroll through for the best celebrity photos of March 2026 so far, starting with, from left, Jessie Buckley, Michael B. She continued: "When I sat and thought about it, I just thought, 'I don't really want to do this. I wasn't comfortable with it. It seemed silly to me.' Not that I had anything against nudity — I grew up on European films — but only if it makes sense for the character and the story. But when it just seems silly, I don't know. It just felt like it was something that wasn't for me."

The scene did not end up making it into the 1981 film, and Gershon made her onscreen debut the same year with a small role in "Beatlemania: The Movie." She went on to appear in a string of movies through the mid-'80s and '90s, propelling her rise to fame.

More recently, Gershon has appeared in supporting roles on the CW teen drama "Riverdale" and the NBC medical show "New Amsterdam."

Mark Consuelos celebrated his 55th birthday on Live With Kelly and Mark.

Wife and cohost Kelly Ripa introduced a segment featuring a comical birthday message from his "favorite child," a.k.a. the couple's dog, Lena.

The couple previously got emotional on the air, revealing the death of their beloved dog Chewie.

Morning TV staple and Scream 7 actor Mark Consuelos rang in his 55th birthday with a rare display of teary-eyed emotion on Live With Kelly and Mark.

Consuelos got emotional Monday morning, after wife and cohost Kelly Ripa, also 55, helped her husband celebrate his milestone birthday with a special Live segment that included a message from a special guest.

"I'm very happy you were born," Ripa told her husband from the Live desk. "We have a very special surprise for you. Your favorite child has sent you a message. We thought you'd like to see it!"

The show then cued up a split-screen image of an animation depicting the couple's dog, Lena, speaking to Consuelos: "Hi daddy! I'm getting ready to celebrate your big day. I'm staying hydrated and getting my steps in," the animated version of Lena said.

"Guess what? In dog years, you're 385 years old, but you don't look a day over 55 to me. Love you, kisses!" Lena finished, with Consuelos opening his mouth in shock over the bit.

"Are you crying?" Ripa asked, with a close-up shot showing tears clearly welling in Consuelos' eyes.

"Is it weird that I got emotional?" Consuelos asked, before putting his head down on the table for a few seconds. "I got emotional! Who am I? What happened to me?"

The cohost called the segment "the nicest thing," as Ripa has long teased her husband on Live over his doting affection for Lena. Though Ripa previously joked that Lena was her husband's "favorite child," the couple — who married in 1996 — share three human children, too, including Michael, Lola, and Joaquin Consuelos.

Live's Lena moment also came one year after the couple opened up about extreme grief over the loss of another pet, Chewie, their 17-year-old dog who died in early 2025.

"I'm really sorry. I thought I got it all out, guys. I really thought I got it all out, and I apologize because I did not. This is not how I wanted this to go down. God, she gave us so much," Ripa said on Live in February 2025, upon breaking down in tears while discussing Chewie's death. "We're filled with gratitude for this dog. I apologize, I'm so sorry. She gave us so much. As each one of our kids left for college and then moved out on their own, Chewie remained right there like our steadfast companion."

Tiger Woods has been released from jail.

The professional golfer was seen after exiting Martin County Jail in Florida on Friday following his DUI arrest.

Woods was charged with two misdemeanors after his alleged involvement in a rollover car crash in Jupiter Island, Fla.: DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to lawful test.

A photo published by PEOPLE captured the aftermath of the collision. The image showed Woods' Land Rover flipped with the driver's side door touching the ground. The vehicle appeared to have partially landed on grass, with the top of the car sitting just inches away from a sidewalk.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office alleged that Woods tried to overtake a truck at a "high speed" as the other driver was slowing down to pull into a driveway. Authorities said that although the truck driver attempted to pull over to the side of the road, Woods' vehicle clipped the pressure washer trailer attached to the back of the truck, causing his car to flip. The athlete then exited his car via the passenger side door.

Sheriff John Budensiek claimed that Woods was "lethargic on scene" and alleged that he exemplified "signs of impairment." The golfer allegedly took a breathalyzer test that resulted in zero, but later declined to take a urinalysis test in jail, which led to his second misdemeanor charge.

Representatives for Woods did not immediately respond to **'s request for comment.

President Trump, the former father-in-law of the golfer's girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, expressed sympathy for Woods following the crash. "I feel so badly," Trump said on Friday. "He's got some difficulty. There was an accident, and that's all I know. Very close friend of mine. He's an amazing person, amazing man. But some difficulty."

Woods was previously involved in a rollover car crash in Los Angeles County in 2021. Authorities reported that the athlete did not show signs of impairment at the time. He later had surgery to treat multiple leg injuries he sustained in the accident.

The golfer previously faced a DUI charge in 2017 after authorities in Jupiter, Fla., discovered him unconscious at the wheel of a stationary vehicle. "I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved," he said in a statement at the time. "What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn't realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly."

Woods later checked himself into a rehab program for prescription drug addiction and pleaded guilty to reckless driving. The DUI charge was dropped in exchange.
