An aspiring lawyer was killed by a hit-and-run driver on her birthday while she was trying to help a lost dog on a Florida highway. Maryam Ibrahim, 25, was leaving her birthday dinner Thursday night and stopped to help a hurt dog on Dale Mabry Highway, reported WFLA. She stopped her Kia Optima around 10:25 p.m. and approached the stray pup on the six-lane highway. That is when the Florida Highway Patrol said an unidentified 69-year-old Tampa man driving a Toyota RAV4 struck and killed both Ibrahim and the dog.
