But amongst the plethora of long-established rules that need to be followed, the most important one has always been to bow (or curtsey) to the monarch. The monarch, on the other hand, bows to no one. And the late Queen Elizabeth II kept this tradition for her entire record breaking 70-year-long reign - with only one exception.
