A Russian jet left at a German airport after the start of the Ukraine war has run up £383,000 in fines. The Russian plane landed at Munich Airport on February 27, 2022, three days after Russia launched its attack on Ukraine. But when the German airspace was closed to Russian flights shortly after, the silver-blue Aeroflot jet was grounded for more than two years, according to local media. While the Airbus A320-200 was stranded at Munich Airport, its parking fees continued to mount, with costs of £280 to £465 (340-560 euros) per day quickly racking up to the record-breaking amount of £383,000 (460,000 euros).
