Louis Vuitton's new bag already has Zendaya's tick of approval
The Low Key Hobo bag offers elegance in spades, and is imbued with a subtle touch of history.

IN RECENT WEEKS, Zendaya's style has been far from low-key, as the actor and fashion darling embarked on a worldwide press tour for her new film Challengers, serving a series of tenniscore inspired looks. But one of the star's latest street style looks did indeed dip into a rare moment of more everyday cool (albeit still elevated), as Zendaya stepped out with Louis Vuitton's newest release: The Low Key Hobo.
Like the actor herself, the Low Key Hobo stands out from the crowd with its streamlined sophistication, at once relaxed and elevated in its design.
Crafted from a supple grained calfskin leather, and available in three essential colour ways — black, cognac and limestone, the latter of which was Zendaya's choice — the details are where the bag truly comes to life.
Inside the bag, the smooth grained outer gives way to a suede lining, while a removable monogram zipped pocket ensures security for your most essential items. The large capacity of the style, meanwhile, ensures you don't need to leave anything at home — there's plenty of room for a laptop, if it's a new day-to-night work bag you're after.
On the adjustable strap — which can transform the bag into a hand, shoulder, or cross-body carry — there lies the signature padlock motif, one of the staples of the Maison which speaks to its heritage as a trunk maker. For the unacquainted, the house was created by its eponymous founder, Louis Vuitton, in the mid-1800s in Paris. In the 1880s, Vuitton and his son, Georges, developed and patented a revolutionary locking system to ensure their trunks offered unmatched safety for their clients.
Fast forward nearly 150 years and Louis Vuitton is, of course, renowned for their creations well beyond trunks, though their expertly crafted travel accessories — right down to their handbags — still carry reminders of that history. In the case of the Low Key Hobo, the golden padlock, engraved with the LV initials, is that reminder; imbuing the bag with an elegance and lore beyond its otherwise deceptively minimalist design.
