A DRIVER has accidentally rear-ended another car outside of an event venue, and a nearby NASCAR crew serendipitously swooped in to help.

As NASCAR crews set up for a racing event in Chicago, some members flew to the aid of passing vehicles.

The NASCAR crews were setting up for a historic event[/caption]

A Hyundai SUV smacked into the back of a Jeep next to the Chicago Street Course in Grant Par in 2023, according to CBS Sports.

Across the street, NASCAR officials started setting up for a historic race.

Lines of multi-million-dollar 18-wheelers and their racing equipment parked on the street outside of a makeshift racing event.

But as the crews set up, the crash sent crew members from the Kaulig Racing and Legacy Motor Club's teams to the streets.

The Hyundai's front bumper was completely detached.

Several dings also appeared on the left side of the car.

Members from opposing crews teamed up to get the passenger cars up and running.

The car drivers drove away from the crash and avoided getting towed.

"Update: Caution is out here on S Dusable Drive; both drivers are okay," the event wrote on its X, formerly known as Twitter.

In a second post, the event joked about the accident.

"Both vehicles are on the DVP clock," Kaulig Racing quipped, referencing the sport's countdown timer during caution events.

Commenters on the post praised the crew's helping hand.

"I'm glad everyone is ok. This is kind of funny though," one person wrote.

"The best possible place to get into a fender bender," another person added.

The race was a historic celebration for the motorsport.

In the previous 75 years of racing, NASCAR had always operated on its own tracks.

NASCAR had taken over city streets for the first time in its history.

Race cars took over sections of Lake Shore Drive, Columbus Drive, and Congress Plaza.

"Really excited about announcing that for the first time with our national series that we'll be bringing it to a street course, and what better place to do it than downtown Chicago, such an iconic city," Ben Kennedy, the senior vice president of racing development and strategy, said while announcing the event.

"[It's] certainly going to be a very special moment in the summer of 2023 as we go street-course racing for the first time with the series."
