George Gilbey's heartbroken mother has spoken about her devastation following the dying of her son.
Last week, former& Gogglebox& star Gilbey& died aged 40 in a 'freak' workplace accident& in& Essex& after& falling 80 feet through a skylight, with a& man then arrested and later released& in connection together with his dying.
Now, his mum Linda McGarry, 74, has paid tribute.
'I'm devastated, he was like my greatest pal,' she stated.
'He had one of the best heart on the planet. He was generous, funny and type, with bundles of appeal and buckets of character.
'He did more in his 40 years than individuals do in 90 – he's even had dinner with the Prince of Dubai.'
She continued: 'He was loopy, however after popping out of showbiz, he couldn't get his life again together. He just couldn't recover from the demise of Pete.'
George's stepdad Pete died aged 71 in 2021 shortly after being recognized with bowel cancer.
Linda additionally shared with the Swindon Advertiser that she had been recognized with Parkinson's illness and her on had struggled with the news.
'I have been recognized with Parkinson's illness and George took it worse than me. He was a mummy's boy,' she shared.
She also stated that while he turned a star 'overnight' he wasn't taken with fame, and as an alternative used his public profile for charity work.
George met ex-partner Gemma Conway after showing on Superstar Huge Brother in 2014, with the pair later welcoming their daughter, who's now seven.
Linda described her granddaughter as being Gilbey's 'absolute world' and that he 'lived for that little woman and his mum'.
She went on to elucidate that her son was a 'real contradiction' and was 'so funny and so intelligent'.
'He was sensible, which allowed him to be quick-witted and he was loud and outgoing, however at the similar time very delicate. He helped others, but he struggled himself,' she added.
Gilbey first appeared on the Channel 4 programme in September 2013 together with his mum and stepdad, earlier than showing on Superstar Huge Brother the following yr, where he finished in fourth place.
The household returned to Gogglebox in 2016, earlier than Gilbey left two years later whereas his mum and stepdad continued with out him until 2020.
