Her daughter Claudia Cowan confirmed that her mom died peacefully on Easter Sunday.
"My fantastic mom passed away peacefully at 5:28 this night. I used to be together with her this morning and know she was ready for me to return residence safely to transition," she informed Fox News.
"It's fitting she selected to go away on Easter because it was considered one of her favorite holidays and now, in fact, Easter could have a deeper significance for me and my household."
Her demise comes simply months after her daughter posted a birthday tribute on Instagram.
"She is golden, she is a diamond, she glows like the moon and shines like the sun," Cowan wrote in January.
"Age does not diminish the light in her eyes, the sweetness of her coronary heart, or the wisdom in her soul.
"To me, she is 97 years young."
Rush had a profitable career that spanned over seven many years and noticed her work with Hollywood greats like Marlon Brando and Dean Martin.
The legendary actress was notably well-known for her 1950s melodramas.
She began her appearing career on the stage but acquired her breakthrough position in the 1953 science fiction horror film It Came From Outer Area.

Rush had spent the final years of her life out of the Hollywood spotlight.
Her daughter Claudia shared an image together with her mom on Instagram in February this yr.
