H&M has removed a school uniform advert with the caption 'make those heads turn' after claims it was sexualising youngsters.

The clothing big's 'back-to-school' trend advert options two main faculty age women sporting pinafore clothes.

Their heads are turned over their shoulders, wanting in the direction of the digital camera.

The social media advert is aimed at the Australian market, where youngsters are returning to high school after the summer break.

Activists took purpose on the retailer in livid social media posts, calling it a 'shameful exploitation' of young youngsters.

Australian acitivist Melinda Tankard Reist, who describes herself as 'an advocate for ladies and women' and a 'pro-life feminist', wrote: '@hm @hmaustralia what is your intention with this sponsored Fb ad?

'Little schoolgirls usually don't need to "turn heads". The massive numbers I interact with in faculties need to be left alone to study and have enjoyable.'

Psychologist and life coach Dr Pam Spurr added: 'Your vile advert panders to paedophiles that it's OK lusting after women. Boycott H&M. A shameful exploitation of women.'

Dozens more lambasted the model, demanding to know 'why the hell H&M is sexualising youngsters'.

Many referred to as it an 'inappropriate advert' and stated H&M ought to 'assume once more in a short time'. 

A H&M spokesperson apologised when contacted by Metro.co.uk.

They stated: 'This ad has now been removed. We're deeply sorry for the offense this has brought about and can look into how we present campaigns going forward.'

The spokesperson stated the advert was solely revealed on the company's Australian websites, where it has since posted an apology.
