New Law 'Finally' Makes Animal Cruelty a Federal Crime: 'America’s Beloved Pets Are Safer'

Horrible acts of animal cruelty at the moment are federal crimes.

President Trump signed the Shield Animal Cruelty and Torture (PACT) Act, H.R. 724, into regulation on Monday, after the bill acquired bipartisan help in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

The new regulation takes “the worst and most malicious acts of animal cruelty, together with crushing, burning, drowning, suffocating and impaling,” and makes them federal crimes in America, in line with the Humane Society of the USA (HSUS).

Bush administration, stated in a press release obtained by PEOPLE. “It can finally be a federal crime to abuse or torture animals, a recognition of how beneficial animals are to us, not solely as pets however as service animals, regulation enforcement help, and constant companions.”
